Early Years – Childcare changes (England) (3.82)
Description
The following is a summary of changes to support the April 2024 childcare changes.
The changes are included in 3.82 as well as feature updates on both the 3.81 release and the 3.80.100 release.
- Eligibility checks
- Running working parent checks for under 3-year-olds through the Provider and Citizen Portal
- Eligibility check result to include the earliest start date and clearer explanation when ‘no term found’
- Viewing previous checks for under 3-year-olds (including a new age column)
- Monitoring checks via the expiration dashboard for under 3-year-olds (including a new age column)
- Automatic rechecks for under 3-year-olds
- Headcount
- Ability to record either funded (disadvantaged) or expanded (working parent) funding for 2-year-olds
- Ability to add carer information to 2-year-olds
- Payments
- Ability to pay expanded hours for 2-year-olds
- Terminology changes
- Changes to labels and text throughout the application e.g. working parent instead of 30-hours (these changes will only be shown if portal labels have not already been locally modified)
- EYPP
- Ability to run EYPP checks individually or in bulk for under 3-year-olds
- Ability to pay EYPP against funded or expanded hours for 2-year-olds
- DAF
- Ability for providers to apply for DAF for under 3-year-olds
- Ability to pay DAF for eligible 2-year-olds
- Carry Over / Update
- Ability to carry over and update expanded hours for 2-year-olds
- Apportionments
- Apportionment gets triggered when a 2-year-old claims disadvantaged funded hours at one provider and working parent expanded hours at another provider
