Additional Information

The Additional Information section comprises the following fields:

• Teaching MediumTeaching Medium

  This enables Welsh authorities to record the language used as the teaching medium in the school. Use the browse button to select a language. The list is populated from Lookup Table 0034.

• Employment TypeEmployment Type

  This field is used for pseudo bases only, e.g. Teacher Training base so that DfE returns can assign employees at these bases to the correct tables. Click the browse button to display the DfE Employment Type codes and select the required code.

• Short CodeShort Code

  A Short Code may be entered when adding a new school or in edit mode. It enables you to enter the short code into the school name search field rather than partial name.

• XML Transfer BaseXML Transfer Base

  This check box is automatically selected if the base has had an import via XML Data Exchange. It can also be manually selected.

  If this check box is selected, the base is included in the list when the Local Authority checks the activity log in XML Data Exchange for bases with or without imports at a given date.

• LA GatewayLA Gateway

  This check box must be selected if the school is sending attendance data to the web based Local Authority Gateway, which may be accessed via Internet Explorer.

• B2B Personnel BaseB2B Personnel Base

  If the Local Authority has licensed its schools for B2B Personnel this box must be selected. Within B2B Personnel, only those schools that are flagged as B2B Personnel Bases are available for selection.

• In Statutory ReturnIn Statutory Return

  By default this check box is selected for all home Local Authority bases. For other bases it is deselected. When selected this box indicates that the base will be included in DfE returns and is also used in routines in School Census, CTF and SEQUEL. Deselecting this box enables "dummy" bases used in Admissions and Transfers to be excluded from such returns.

  If you are adding a new base, this check box will be deselected and must be manually selected to include this base in DfE returns and other routines.

• Children's Centre NoChildren's Centre No

  This is a check box which is only available in add or edit mode. It defaults to deselected.

• B2B Student BaseB2B Student Base

  If the Local Authority has licensed its schools for B2B Student this box must be selected. Within B2B Student only those schools that are flagged as B2B School Bases are available for selection.

• Parents Gateway URLParents Gateway URL

  You may enter the Gateway web address for the base. If a web address is entered and the record is saved, the Gateway URL is shown as a hyperlink to the defined website.
