Statutory CTF - Common Transfer File

Imports

The Summer 2025 release (3.86) supports both CTF25 and CTF24.

Education accepts the current version of the CTF file as well as the preceding version. 

If a CTF file that has a file version other than 25 or 24 is imported then the system will display the following error message in Focus | Data Store | Errors:

CTF is not an expected version. Proceeding with upload may mean some data may not import.

Exports

Files exported on or before 31st July 2025 - the <AcademicYear> is exported as 2024.

Files exported on or after the 1st August 2025 - the <AcademicYear> is exported as 2025.

The Export Defaults page version number shows Export Defaults for Version YY.0. This can be found in Common Transfer File | Focus | Export | Export Defaults.

When using the Batch Export, Student Export and A&T Export options to produce the CTF 25 file, the header is as follows:

<CTFVersion>25.0</CTFVersion>
<DateTime>date/time created</DateTime> eg: 2025-08-12T04:26:45
<AcademicYear>2025</AcademicYear>

CML/CMJ Files

CMJ/CML files can be imported which conform to both the CTF25 & CTF24 specifications.

If a CTF file that has a file version other than 25 or 24 is imported then the system will display the following error message in Focus | Data Store | Errors:
