Early Years Set Up Overview

Early Years is part of the v4 Client. The initial setup and maintenance of Early Years is completed via Early Years | Early Years Setup. The following processes are required to enable details of childcare providers to be recorded and payments to be made:

  • Define Early Years Payment Periods.
  • Define Payment Setup Options: Payment Types, Single Funded Formulas (SFF) and Hours Remaining Options.
  • Define Payment Parameters.
  • Manage Yearly Caps.
  • Manage Umbrella Organisations.
  • Set Up Monitoring Codes.
  • Set Up Income Types.
  • Set Up Income Schedules.
  • Configure the link to the Eligibility Checking Service (ECS) for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).

This is intended for One administrators and Users of the Early Years Setup area.

Early Years Pupil Premium

The Early Years module enables you to check eligibility for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) for children in the correct age range through the government’s Eligibility Checking Service (ECS). The ECS Configuration page is used to configure the link to the Eligibility Checking Service.

Permissions

Early Years uses business processes to determine which user groups have access to specific functionality. User groups are assigned read, read-write, read-write-delete or deny permissions to each Early Years business processes. Permissions are maintained in the One v4 Client. One System Administrators should create user groups with the desired level of access to the business processes and main business processes mentioned below:

  • Early Years Administration
  • Early Years Finance
  • Early Years Processing
  • Early Years Setup

The Business processes are assigned to a user group in the v4 Client via Tools | Permissions | User Group Processes.

Interdependencies

A number of processes within some of the main business processes require permissions to be assigned in another main business process.
