2020/2021 Census Return

This release supports the changes to School Census 2020/2021 Return

• A new data item SessionsCoronavirus has been added into the PLASC Attendance table
• A new tag has been added to the <TermlyAttendance> container in the XML schema called <SessionsCoronavirus>

A change was made to pupil attendance regulations to add a new category of attendance:

‘Sessions not attending in circumstances relating to coronavirus’

This is to support the full return of pupils by recognising the unique nature of this non-attendance and without unfairly categorising those who are not attending because they are following public health guidance to shield, self-isolate or staying at home in the event of local or regional lockdowns.
