Youth Justice – YJB Statutory Change: KPI1 Accommodation Suitability – new Overall Accommodation Suitability page (3.82)

Description

Whether or not an accommodation is suitable, is a professional judgement.  Young people can have multiple addresses active at any given time and each of those addresses could change from being suitable to not suitable and vice versa repeatedly over time.  With this in mind, YJB statutory returns and KPIs require a professional judgement of the ‘overall’ accommodation suitability for a young person across all their relevant accommodations at specific points in time (such as the start or end of an order, or at release from custody).

Practitioners can now record their professional judgment of the ‘overall accommodation suitability’, taking into consideration all of the young person’s living arrangements, with an ‘effective date’ and selecting the main Accommodation Type from the list of YJB specified values, in the Client Summary change page.

In the Overall Accommodation Suitability section (formerly Current Address Details section) of the Change Summary screen, click new to display the following:

When changing or adding a suitability record, if Other (Please Specify) is selected for accommodation type a new free text field of Other displays. This is a mandatory field for this option.

Date secured (release from custody only) is an optional field that is only relevant where a young person is being released from custody.  This information is required for YJB KPI1 Accommodation suitability, to calculate how far in advance of their release date, the young person’s accommodation was secured.

Screen changes

The title Current Address Details has been renamed Overall Accommodation Suitability.

The following fields have been removed from the front end UI (they’ve been retained in the back end database tables to retain any historical data) on the Client Summary page::

• Accommodation Type
  As these values pre-date the new YJB specified list
  
• Accommodation Impact
  No longer required
• Parental Responsibility
  Pre-dates information captured in AssetPlus Parents/Carers

Main Accommodation Type with corresponding suitability status, effective date and date secured for release from custody, do not display on the Client Summary. They are accessible to view on clicking the change icon to access the full details.

Multiple records can be added and display as read-only. They can be deleted if required.
