AMPARK and CTF Translation Tables
Preparation
Prior to initiation of an Assessment Manager ProjectAssessment Manager Project ensure that you have imported the latest versions of:
- AMPARK (Assessment Manager and Performance Analysis Resource Kit) templates and Aspects
- CTF Translation Table
(These are available in the Ampark folder or from the AMPARK website | ONE Translation Table n.nnn.)
In addition you should also ensure that:
- The Academic Year has been set via Tools | Year settings | Year DefinitionsYear Definitions
- Bases are assigned with relevant Assessment Stages.
EYFSP, Key Stage and Phonics Aspect files held within AMPARK should be imported first and then the Translation Table.
The AMPARK and CTF Translation Table files have their version numbers in line with the latest release of SIMS. The version numbers used for both files are the same for each. The files are currently identified as:
- AMPA for ONE + [version number]
- ONE_Translation Table [version number].xml
The AMPARK file, and all related XML files contained within, are derived and made from the A-COMP spreadsheet provided by the DfE which identifies the assessment components and valid values for the current year: Common Basic Data Set
Common Transfer Files (CTF) containing Key Stage results (only Aspects for the current year are included in these files) are produced from SIMS (AM7) and imported into One (v4) Data Import facility. An Import File Specification is available.
Common Transfer Files (CTF) containing EYFSP results be produced from SIMS (AM7) and imported into One (v3) via Data Manager | Common Transfer File using the processes Data Store, Upload and Import.
All CTF results files are provided and validated in CTF YY format.
Previously CTF Translation Table files supplied by SIMS contained aspects for both the current and historical years. Currently in One when CTF Translation table files are imported using the v4 import engine, the content of the file replaces all data in the table in which it’s imported.
How to import the CTF Translation Table
The CTF translation table file, supplied by SIMs, only contains aspects for the upcoming year. The v4 import process for the CTF Translation table file only requires updating to ensure that when the file is imported the aspects contained in the file are appended to the CTF_ASPECTS table in the database. Where aspects for the year within the file already exist in this table (in scenarios where files are re-imported) the process should delete everything from the CTF_ASPECTS table for the year the file is for and then import its content.
It is recommended that ALL Template and Aspects from AMPARK are imported ahead of the CTF Translation Table.
These are within the Ampark folder or from the AMPARK Website (ONE Translation Table n.nnn):
- Go to Focus | Data Management | Import | Import Data
- Select Import File Type – ‘CTF Translation’
- Select the required n.nnn_ONE_TRANSLATION.xml. file
- As the file specification is ‘Fast Track’ the Processing Directory will populate automatically
- Click Import
- On the Data Import panel click Create Import Processing Files.
You will receive a message stating ‘Total nnnn entities created in Import Processing directory’ - If there are any errors found during the import i.e. ‘Aspect does not exist’ a message at the bottom of the screen will inform you: ‘Import failed. Please refer to the activity log.
The Match and Store panel will open showing the records that could not be imported.
