Attendance – New multiple character codes introduced (WALES ONLY) (3.89)
Description
The latest list of codes issued by the Welsh Government (WG) contains new multiple character codes.
IMPORTANT: Any reports that reference the internal code must be case sensitive. If not, it will affect the outcome of the reporting as some codes now have different meanings according to whether they are uppercase or lowercase.

| d | O | A | Flexi-schooled pupil | C3 |
| e | O | A | Part-time timetable | C4 |
| g | O | A | Physical illness | I1 |
| h | O | A | Non-physical illness | I2 |
| i | O | A | Approved sporting activity | P1 |
| j | O | A | Approved performance | P2 |
The new codes are not to be confused with the following existing codes:

| B | Educated off site (NOT Dual registration) |
| C | Other authorised circumstances (not covered by another code/description) |
| D | Dual Registration (i.e. pupil attending other establishment) |
| E | Excluded (no alternative provision made) |
| F | Extended family holiday (agreed) |
| G | Family holiday (NOT agreed or days in excess of agreement) |
| H | Family holiday (agreed) |
