Early Years – Early Years Pupil Premium (3.86)
Description
If the child is eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium a supplement is added when a payment is generated. This is based on the number of hours (funded, extended or expanded) the child is claiming. From September 2025 EYPP is only payable on the first 570 hours in a child’s funding year for under 3 year olds.
- Child is under 3 and ONLY claiming expanded hours
EYPP is applied to 15 hours only. Irrespective of whether they are claiming up to 30 hours. - Child is 2 years old and ONLY claiming funded hours
EYPP is applied to funded hours only. - Child is 2 years old and claiming BOTH funded and expanded hours
EYPP is applied to funded hours only. - Child attending one provider only
EYPP is applied to that provider. - Child attending multiple providers
EYPP is divided between the providers to a maximum of 15 hours in total. As an example, if a child attends 2 providers and is claiming over 7.5 hours at both 7.5 hours of EYPP will be awarded to both providers. - EYPP capped at 570 hours
The number of EYPP hours paid in actual and adjustment payments for a child (per period and per service) is stored against any child with a funded start year of Autumn 2025 or onwards. The system automatically caps EYPP at 570 hours per child’s funding year.
