A&T – LAs can now configure phased transfer groups for late applications (3.89)
Description
A new configuration option has been added to phased transfer groups in the Admissions Back Office. This includes:
- Enable Late Applications Online
- Start Date
- End Date
- End Time
These new fields allow Local Authorities (LAs) to define a specific window during which late applications can be submitted via the Citizen Portal. A new Late Application Submission Confirmation option has also been added to the Online Text dropdown.
Previously, business rules prevented applications from being submitted after the online closing date. This forced LAs to use manual workarounds, such as PDF or paper forms, which then had to be manually entered into the system. This update automates the process. It allows citizens to submit late applications directly through the portal within a controlled timeframe.
Local Authority administrators can now easily manage late application windows within the system, reducing manual data entry. Once configured, citizens using the Citizen Portal can see the option to select the relevant transfer group. They can then submit their applications even after the initial closing date has passed, provided it is within the newly defined late application window.
Admissions officers can now ensure that parents submitting late applications receive a specific confirmation message. This message is distinct from standard on-time applications. Once configured, the system automatically triggers this specific email to parents upon the successful submission of a late application through the Citizen Portal. This ensures parents receive appropriate information relevant to the late application status.
